All UTAUloids that are androids/cyborgs/not stated work Chobits persocom style.

And the hard drives in their bodies can be accessed through plugging them (via head/headphones) to a monitor, mouse and keyboard. Specifically Mac UTAU such as Hachi run on a Mac operating system and Windows UTAU like Vista run on Windows.

This leads to some non-robotic UTAU plugging them in and using them to play video games, order things online, etc. leading to much frustration.

Some UTAU run on their own custom OSes. Hayari runs on a derivative of Windows ME that’s only good at walking, fashion and pineapples causing her to crash often.

All UTAU speak/sing by rapidly creating USTs in their heads.
